These days producers have some great outlets to post their beats online with hopes of major placements with artists as well as special licensing opportunities. Obviously the best way to make it big as a producer would be to network with artists on your own, but with the power of the internet producers can really amplify their own marketing efforts by using a few or all of these key websites.

1. iStandardProducers.com – iStandard Producers are a great partner of ours here at NIT, but they also have some amazing opportunities for producers. Once a member of their site a producer can submit beats directly to major label A&R’s for specific major artists’ albums. This direct line of communication with the A&R’s is a very unique experience. They also happen to run the largest Producer Showcase in the nation, powered by Monster Energy, which hits 40 major cities every year. If you are a serious Producer you NEED to be a lifetime member of this site! You can also sell beats directly on the site once a member, or just submit to showcase in your city for free!
2. BeatStars.com – Beat Stars offers some very cool promotional remix contests, to work direct with major artists on songs. This avenue is great because you end up working with the artist himself, rather than through a A&R.  They have also claimed to pay out over $500,000 directly to Producers who sell beats online on their site. Check them out, however there is a monthly fee to gain these benefits.
3. Music Dealers – One of our favorite resources for artists and producers, Music Dealers allows direct access to music supervisors for licensing deals, mainly for major TV and commercial campaigns. These can be HUGE opportunities for producers as many of the spots are for instrumental music only. The other huge benefit of licensing is not only are you paid and retain publishing, but a major brand may actually pay to advertise your music to MILLIONS of potential fans, driving direct sales for years to come!
